Important Informations About Real Estate in Northern Cyprus
The Special Situation of Real Estate in Northern Cyprus
Since 1974, Cyprus has been politically and administratively divided. This special situation still affects property ownership in the northern part of the island today.
For this reason, different types of Title Deeds exist in Northern Cyprus. It is important not only to check whether a Title Deed exists, but also to understand where it comes from and the ownership history of the property.
The origin of a Title Deed can make an important difference. Its legal background and ownership history should therefore always be reviewed by an independent qualified lawyer.
